Kareena Kapoor's Biography

Kareena Kapoor is born to actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita and popularly known as ‘Bebo’ in her familyand the film world, Kareena Kapoor was borned in 21 Sept 1980, Kareena comes from the country’s first acting family and is the daughter of actor Randhir Kappor. Her elder sister Karisma Kapoor is also a well-known actress. Her mom separated from her dad because her dad would not allow them to become actresses.

She did her schooling in Bombay and at Dehra Dun’s prestigious Welham Girls’ School. She was also at Harvard for a very brief period.
Kareena made her debut with ‘Refugee’ in 2000. It was also the film that launched Abhishek Bachchan’s career. Kareena was actually slated to star in the biggest hit of that year Kaho Naa Pyar Hai, but for some reason dropped out. She says she is glad to have done so. Today after more than 30 films to her kitty, Kareena is one of the most influential actresses in Bollywood.




At her younger age Kareena kapoor would frequently accompany her sister to film shoots. Despite being born into a film family, Kareena at first wanted to become a lawyer. Her childhood was spent at Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai after which she went to Welham Girls Boarding School in Dehradun. She has studied Commerce at Mithibai College, Vile Parle from 1997 to 1998. Kareena then went to Harvard for summer school and took a course in microcomputers and information technology for three months.

Success eagerly embraced her with film like "Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai" and "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham". The former became one of the biggest hits of that year and the latter came the second highest grossing film of 2001.These successes established her as one of the industry's most successful stars.

Kareena’s latest blockbuster ‘Jab We Met’, in which earned praise from all the quarters for playing the bubbly girl from Punjab, again catapulted her to the to the top rung of the Bollywood, that be of the times.
